Tolman was awarded a Critics' Choice Television Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in the category of movies/ministries. Additionally to that, her nominations for Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes. Tolman was cast in an episode of guest-starring as romance writer Abby Berman on The Mindy Show the following year. It premiered in September of 2019, however, it was pulled after just one season that ended on May 21, 2020. The actress was also an guest on the NBC show Good Girls.
